<b>1. University of Nairobi
</b>
University of Nairobi (UoN) is a collegiate research university based in Nairobi Kenya. It is one of the largest
universities in Kenya. Although its history as an educational institution dates back to 1956, it did not become an
independent university until 1970. In this year, the University of East Africa was split into three independent
universities: Makerere University in Uganda, the University of Dar es Salaam in Tanzania, and the University of
Nairobi.

<b>2. Kenyatta University
</b>
Kenyatta University,is a public university located in Nairobi Kenya.It is the second largest public university in the
country (after University of Nairobi). The University is located in Kahawa, about 20 kilometres (12 mi) from
Nairobi�s city centre, along the Nairobi-Thika road.The history of Kenyatta University began in 1965 when the
British Government handed over the Templar Barracks to the newly formed government of Kenya. The Barracks were then
changed into a college known as Kenyatta College. Initially, the College was divided into two; the Secondary Education
Division and the Teacher Education Division, which started by offering the three-year Post – Ordinary level Secondary
Teacher�s Certificate.

<b>3. Egerton University
</b>
Egerton University is the oldest institution of higher learning in Kenya. It was founded as a Farm School in 1939 by
Lord Maurice Egerton of Tatton, a British national who settled in Kenya in the 1920s.In 1950, the School was upgraded
to an Agricultural College offering diploma programmes. The Egerton Agricultural College Ordinance was enacted in
1955. In 1979, the Government of Kenya and the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) funded a
major expansion of the institution.

</b>
Moi University is a public university located in Eldoret town in western Kenya. It was the second public university to
be established in Kenya, after the University of Nairobi. It is one of seven fully fledged public institutions of
higher learning in Kenya (others being the University of Nairobi, Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and
Technology, Maseno University, Egerton University, Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology and Kenyatta
University). It was established in 1984 by the Moi University Act of Parliament after recommendations from the Mackay
Commission.

</b>
Strathmore University is a chartered university based in Nairobi, Kenya. Strathmore College was started in 1961 as an
Advanced-level Sixth Form College offering Science and Arts subjects by a group of professionals, who formed a
charitable Educational Trust (now the Strathmore Educational Trust). Saint Josemar�a Escriv�, founder of Opus Dei,
inspired and encouraged them to start the College.

Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology is situated in Juja, 36 kilometres North East of Nairobi, along
Nairobi-Thika Highway.It was started in 1981 as a Middle Level College (Jomo Kenyatta College of Agriculture and
Technology (JKCAT)) by the Government of Kenya with the generous assistance from the Japanese Government.

</b>
United States International University -Africa is located in the Kasarani area, off Thika Road in the suburb of
Kenya�s capital city of Nairobi Kenya. The university is an independent, not-for-profit institution serving 6032
students representing 70 nationalities. United States International University seeks “to identify, recruit and admit
qualified students to the university” in accordance with the published standards determined by the university
leadership and in keeping with the university mission as described in the university catalog.

<b>8. Mt Kenya University
</b>
Mount Kenya University (MKU) is a private, multi-campus, chartered university in Kenya. It is one of the largest
private universities in the country.The institution was founded in 1996 as Thika Institute of Technology. In 2000, the
Institute developed into a commercial college offering management and computer training programmes. Later in the year
the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology recognized the institute as a full-fledged institution of higher
learning and granted it a full registration approval. In 2005 the Institute became the 1st private institution in
Kenya to be allowed to train pharmaceutical technologists by the Pharma cy and Poisons Board of the Kenya Ministry of
Health.

<b>9. Technical University of Kenya
</b>
The Technical University of Kenya (TU-K) is a public university located at Haile Selassie Ave, Nairobi Kenya. The
School was established through the elevation of The Kenya Polytechnic University College (KPUC) to full university
status. TU-K was established as the first Technical University in Kenya line with the provisions of the proposed
Universities Act, 2012.

</b>
Daystar was co-founded in 1964 in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe, by Dr. S.E. Motsoko Pheko, a political refugee from South
Africa, and Dr. Donald and Mrs. Faye K. Smith, an American missionary couple.The name �Daystar� is derived from
the Bible (2nd Peter 1:19), which is used to describe Jesus Christ. With this in mind, every member of Daystar

</b>
Maseno University is a university based in Maseno, near Kisumu, in Kenya and was founded in 1991. It is one of the
seven public universities in Kenya. The University is located in Maseno Township along Kisumu-Busia road, some 25 km
from Kisumu City and 400 km west of Nairobi. It has two campuses: the Kisumu campus and the Main campus. The Main
campus is located along Kisumu-Busia road, while the Kisumu campus is located in Kisumu City.
